Systems Engineering
A comprehensive systems engineering approach is vital to a successful technology development effort. Without following this process, the system under development is destined to lack in at least one major area, be it performance, operability, maintainability, or another area.
TVRG has extensive systems engineering experience, recently concentrating on high energy laser systems. Incorporating classical SE methodologies into it support of Army HEL system development improves the prototype weapons being delivered to the Warfighters.

Component Design and Development
Today’s Computer Aided Design software enables today’s engineers to design components and systems that are far more economical that previous decades. CAD software not only allowed the engineer to design the component but also conduct structural analysis, thermal analysis and automatically produce manufacturing drawings and parts lists.
TVRG engineers are sought after to design components for HEL systems. Our engineers then work with manufactures to ensure proper development. TVRG is also developing unique models of HEL effects.

HEL System T&E
HEL technology can revolutionize the battlefield in favor of the US Army by defeating threats with laser “shots” that are lower cost than the threat, even small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The Army prototyped being integrated now have many soldier-centered design features that incorporate feedback gained through familiarization events and operating training.

TVRG supports efforts, which starts with pre-test coordination with test range personnel, continues to the scheduling, planning and procedures, test execution and post-test analysis. The TVRG-developed Test Optimizer for HEL engagements , a unique tool to identify HEL target engagement windows that optimize test resource utilization. Analysist from TVRG are key contributors to determining the level of success of test events. TVRG has one of the few Board of Laser Safety qualified Laser Safety Officer in the Huntsville AL region.

Missile System T&E
Realistic testing of ballistic missile defense systems is required validate engagement models under real-world conditions. To make these live-fire test more economical, the Army provides low-cost threat surrogates that present realistic threat trajectories and dynamics, and when required, realistic signatures. Hypersonic weapons will provide a new capability for Army long-range precision fires.

TVRG supports ballistic and hypersonic missile integration and test. This includes pre-test coordination with test range personnel, continues to the scheduling, planning and procedures, equipment emplacement, test execution and ends with post-test analysis. Tailoring of Air Force 91-710, RCC 319 and 324 are frequent activities associated with this support.

Program Management
Well planned projects/programs are essential to successful technology development, prototype weapon integration and test, weapon lethality testing, etc. A program plan must include thoroughly researched requirements, desired results and resources.
TVRG provides multiple government organizations with program management support from top-to-bottom. Its personnel have assisted government organizations developing system concepts and carried through to providing expertise to fielding of prototype systems. TVRG has expertise in guiding projects to successful completion for both DoD-only and international projects.
