Senior Operations and Program Support Analyst 

Type: Full-Time

Location: Huntsville, AL

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):  Serve as a Senior Operations and Program Support Analyst for the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO), which is responsible for the rapid and efficient research, develop, prototype, test, evaluate, procure, transition, and/or field critical enabling technologies and capabilities that address near-term and mid-term threats. Candidate will report directly to the Directed Energy Project Office (DEPO) and be responsive to operational and acquisition requirements. The candidate will also need to be able travel up to 15% of the time. Primary responsibility will be in support of project office operations which include:

  • Attend and participate in organizational staff calls, stand-ups, project office tag-ups, working groups, IPRs or similar events; capture, assess and monitor action items from meetings and engage in the resolution process; and propose responses to inquiries based on actions assigned. Prepare notes or after-action summaries, track actions items, and making recommendations on response for closure.
  • Maintain internal task tracker, assign tasks to appropriate team, suspense completion date and follow-up until completed. Serve as Ops Task Manager for those tasks coming from outside the organization.
  • Assist with daily office operations and prioritization of events based on known activities or guidance provided such as synchronization and integration of events and activities for DEPO through coordination, consolidation, and collaboration of information.
  • Maintain operations calendar and provide recommendations to resolve issues or conflicts; coordinate impacts and changes, receiving direction from senior operations specialist for non-routine matters.
  • Create, compose, consolidate, and review documentation, e.g., correspondence, briefings, response to inquiries, and talking points for correctness, format, spelling, and grammar before sending out for approval or signature. Draft responses to internal and external taskers, RFIs, Congressional delegations and other key stakeholders.
  • Support program updates and assist in developing executive-level briefings, including accomplishments, impacts, risks, issues, and challenges, etc.; coordinate documents, e.g., white papers; conduct pre-meetings to prepare and distribute read-aheads; and secure approval of documents to meet read ahead timelines prior to submission for executive forums.
  • Assist with special projects where multiple functions are involved, coordinating actions, clarifying responsibilities and timelines for completion, and consolidating data, as necessary, and reviews to ensure accomplishment of objectives, timeliness, and acceptability. Consistently developing and sustaining cooperative working relationships and ensuring visitor authorization requests (VARS) are prepared, when needed.
  • Coordinate with and brief senior leadership within the Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, the Army and other Service Partners.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background investigation
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and work multiple tasks

Required Experience:

  • Experience working internal/external taskers
  • 10 years of experience in program operations/management with major defense program acquisition experience
  • Experience developing information papers and decision briefings
  • Experience serving and managing mission/information demands of executive members of the Army or DoD staff

Desired Qualifications:

  • Level II or higher certified in Program Management and/or Contracting
  • DAU Level III certification in Program Management
  • Knowledge of DOD 5000 and JCIDS process and tailoring methodologies
  • Ability to work in dynamic environment

Senior Program Integrator

Type: Full-Time

Location: Huntsville, AL

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following): orchestrate efforts of a broad team of government and contractor team members supporting government project managers to plan and execute Science and Technology and prototype development efforts through to technology transition. Candidate will report directly to the government office and be responsive to operational and acquisition requirements. The candidate will also need to be able travel up to 15% of the time. Primary responsibility will be in support of project office operations which include, but not limited to the following:

  • Developing and maintaining program activities (including staffing, budget/cost, and schedules); POM input development, document/briefing development; and program metrics. Special projects, e.g., detailed program books, studies, and options to develop technology maturation initiatives or prototyping initiatives.
  • Developing documents and briefings will be for all audience levels, e.g., technical personnel, general officer, and public release. Must have excellent organization, verbal and written communications skills, and ability to work in highly dynamic environment with short-response timelines.

Senior Engineer for High Energy Laser Beam Control

Type: Full-Time

Location: Huntsville, AL

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following): assist the government with design and analysis of High Energy Laser (HEL) Beam Control Systems (BCS). This will include development of new designs as well as analysis of existing/proposed designed by other contractors. Desired expertise in the following areas: optical components (primary mirrors, fast steering mirrors, deformable mirrors, etc.); optical coatings for multiple wavelengths; beam director control architecture/software; and integration and test of BCS. The engineer will interface directly with government program office personnel as well as other government organizations and contractors involved in the HEL system development and prototyping. The candidate will also need to be able travel up to 15% of the time outside the Huntsville, AL area.

Candidate will report directly to the government office and be responsive to operational and acquisition requirements. Primary responsibility will be in support of project office operations which include, but not limited to the following:

  • Developing and maintaining technical plans, schedules, and budget estimates to develop laser beam control components/subsystems/systems.
  • Developing novel approaches to develop, coat and integrate optical components with coatings for multiple wavelengths.
  • Develop test approaches for beam control component/subsystem/system from laboratory test through field test to fully demonstrate performance of the component/subsystem/system.
  • Oversee software development for beam control system software, e.g. tracking control loops, fast steering mirror control, etc.
  • Work with laser source and support subsystems developers to define physical and data interfaces to produce a fully operational laser system demonstrator.
  • Coordinate with and brief senior leadership within the government office, the Army, and other Service Partners.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s degree highly desired
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background investigation
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and work multiple tasks

Required Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in program operations/management with major defense program acquisition experience
